The association was established in June 2009 with the aim of improving the quality of Roma people living in Koprivnica-Križevci County. From the beginning, the activities were aimed at creating the conditions for involving Roma people in the life of the local community. We wanted the local government and the wider community to respect the laws related to rights of Roma people, which they were often deprived of. The Decade of Roma Inclusion 2005 – 2015 is one of the most important documents for the Roma community in the Republic of Croatia, so the association has been trying to “force” local authorities to implement measures described in this important document from the very foundation of the association. Priority areas of the Decade are education, employment, health and housing, which the association strives to provide for the members of the Roma community.
Through its activities, the association has proven itself to be a partner and/or a cordinator of activities in many programs / projects implemented by the local and regional self-government authorities. The association has its own representative at the Council of National Minorities of Koprivnica-Križevci County.
The Association initiated the signing of the Agreement on Co-operation with Local Government and Self-Government authorities, institutions, associations of citizens directly or indirectly caring for Roma people, which contributed to the signatories of the Agreement to fulfill what they agreed upon in the signed document.
The Association’s activities also influenced the adoption of other local decisions and regulations related to the benefit of the Roma population. Many activities, so-called civic initiatives, launched by the association contributed to the increasing involvement of Roma people in all the spheres of life in the local community. Through the work of the association the conditions for the education of Roma children have been improved, some Roma assistants have been included in the education system, some Roma persons have been employed, and it has been negotiating with some municipalities to improve the living conditions of the Roma community.
The association cooperates with other Roma associations in Koprivnica-Križevci County and related associations throughout the Republic of Croatia. The association also closely cooperates with other associations of citizens in Koprivnica-Križevci County.
The Association carries out all the activities, implements programs and projects in accordance with the Statute, Plan and Program and the Financial Plan for the current year, in cooperation with professional associates, in order to ensure the best quality benefit for the direct users of the services of the association and the local community as a whole.

An active gathering of Roma people in order to promote and encourage social care, protection of health, social, humanitarian and other interests of the Roma people, and to ensure the equal exercise of human rights and to preserve the dignity of the Roma community.
